Villa Florentine is arguably one of the best places to stay in luxury in the city limits of Lyons for its old world charm coupled with all the modern conveniences and comforts you could want; not to mention the marvelous view of offers of the roof tops of the old city overlooking the river Soane. It is also the home of the very fine restaurant "Les Terrasses de Lyon". The hotel derives its charm both from the good taste of the owners and from the fact it is a converted 16th century convent. The reception and lounge area with its 2 story ceilings is the former chapel. The buildings perch on the steep hillside on the west side of Lyons giving every floor access to the view. The price to be paid for this is that it can be quite difficult to find the hotel (click here for directions). When you finally arrive, a porter will not only bring in your luggage but park your car for you in the 70 space, multi level secure garage.
